By the late second century BC, as Seleucid authority fragmented under dynastic civil war and Roman pressure, Syrian civic mints like Apameia began striking autonomous bronze on their own account — this issue belongs to that period of municipal self-assertion. The magistrate name Antipatros appears across multiple die pairings, suggesting a tenure of some duration or administrative reappointment.
