A circular legend reading BODLINWE, identifying the mint of Bolsward, runs around the outer border. The cross and pellet arrangement follows a standard Frisian denier type of the period. The striking is characteristically irregular, with the design elements slightly off-center, consistent with hammered coinage technique. |
