| Obverse description | Hound standing right in profile, rendered with naturalistic musculature, set upon a plain ground line. A murex shell appears to the right of the animal in the field. The composition reflects the local Elymian artistic tradition, combining Greek engraving technique with indigenous Sicilian iconographic elements characteristic of Segestan coinage of this period. |
