The reverse inscription identifies the mint, regnal date, and typically includes the name of the caliph or governor along with Quranic phrases, following the standard Umayyad-derived Abbasid dirham format. The lettering is executed in an angular early Kufic style consistent with the reign of the first Abbasid caliph, Abu al-Abbas al-Saffah (AH 132–136). The flan is irregular and slightly uneven in thickness, characteristic of hammered coinage of this era.
