The musculature of the animal is boldly modelled, conveying power and dynamism. The city ethnic TAUROMENITAN (partially visible in the upper field around the bull) frames the type, while the control letters ΣN appear in the exergue below the groundline. This bull type is a recurrent symbol on the coinage of Tauromenion, referencing both the city's Sicel heritage and its agrarian identity. |
