| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Nagari inscription arranged in a retrograde manner across the field, reading the syllables 'Cha / La / Ma', likely a abbreviated dynastic or mint legend. The characters are rendered in bold, somewhat crude Devanagari script typical of Vijayanagara copper issues, disposed across the coin's surface within a dotted or beaded border. The field shows signs of irregular striking with areas of weak relief characteristic of hammered coinage of this period. |

| Additional information |
The Vijayanagara Empire operated a tiered coinage system in which copper jitals served the lower end of daily market exchange — grain, cloth, and labor transactions that gold fanam denominations simply couldn't accommodate. Production was decentralized across multiple regional mints, which accounts for the considerable variation in fabric and module seen across surviving examples of this type.
