Obverse description Printed in red on a light lilac-blue guilloche underprint, the obverse carries the crowned royal arms of Libya in an oval cartouche at centre-left, set within an intricate floral frame. The Arabic bank title بنك ليبيا appears at upper centre, flanked by corner denomination numerals ¼, with a large arabesque guilloche medallion to the right bearing the fraction ¼ in outline. A central multicolour rosette carries the Arabic legal tender text and a manuscript signature below.

Reverse description Printed entirely in red, the reverse is laid out symmetrically with two large blank guilloche oval medallions flanking a central panel bearing the denomination QUARTER LIBYAN POUND in bold serif lettering. The bank title BANK OF LIBYA runs along the upper border, with the legal tender clause immediately below; the statutory inscription referencing King Idris I and Law No. 4 of 5th February 1963 appears at the foot. Denomination panels £1/4 are repeated in each corner within ornate cartouches.
