Paschal date numerals are disposed around the central device at the approximate positions of 11, 2, 7, and 5 o'clock, rendered in Asomtavruli Georgian script. The overall design reflects the Georgian court aesthetic of the high medieval period, with the bilingual monarchic program characteristic of the Bagrationi dynasty coinage. |

The die workmanship is typical of Georgian-Islamic hybrid coinage of the late 12th to early 13th century, combining Islamic epigraphic conventions with a Christian Georgian monarchic program. |
