The legends are arranged in horizontal registers across the face of the coin, with the script rendered in a somewhat crude but legible hand consistent with provincial mint production. The flan shows characteristic surface irregularities and slight warping inherent to hand-hammered square dirhams of this period. No figurative imagery is present, the design consisting entirely of calligraphic text in the Arabic script. |
