| Obverse description | Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed imperial bust facing right, rendered in a barbarous style derivative of late Roman prototypes. The effigy occupies the central field and is surrounded by a degenerate, nonsensical legend composed of pseudo-epigraphic characters imitating Roman lettering but devoid of coherent meaning, a hallmark of late Germanic imitative coinage. |
