The effigy occupies the central field and is surrounded by a degenerate, nonsensical legend composed of pseudo-epigraphic characters imitating Roman lettering but devoid of coherent meaning, a hallmark of late Germanic imitative coinage. |

The staurogram, a Christological symbol, is rendered in reverse orientation, consistent with the die-cutting practices of barbarous Germanic workshops of the post-Roman period. |
