| Beschrijving voorzijde | A stylised bird, likely a wader or long-billed fowl, rendered in a degenerate late antique manner, occupies the central field facing right. The bird's prominent beak and eye are clearly delineated, with the wing and body indicated by a series of pellets and incuse lines. The plumage is suggested by radiating strokes surrounding the body, giving the design a dynamic, almost abstract quality characteristic of early Anglo-Saxon die-cutting. The field is unlettered, and the coin is bordered by a beaded outer ring consistent with the sceat series. The overall style reflects the transitional artistic idiom of the primary phase of English sceat production. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a central saltire (diagonal cross) enclosed within a square frame composed of beaded lines, with a pellet positioned in each of the four triangular compartments formed by the cross, and a central pellet at the intersection. The square frame itself is set within the round coin flan, with the corners of the square nearly touching the inner beaded border. Additional pellets and a small crescent or annulet motif appear below the square, and partial runic or debased Latin letter-forms are visible in the angles outside the square. The entire design is enclosed by a beaded outer border. The legend, reading [+ SΛI]VIΛOΔCITΔO in a mixture of Latin and pseudo-runic letterforms, surrounds the central motif and is associated with the moneyer name 'Saroaldo'. |
